The Sweet Life
The last couple days I followed Kirk out on his surfing adventures with the Canon 7D. It was my first shot at trying to film surfing with an SLR on a photo tripod, so the video isn’t perfect, but who’s kidding, nor is the surfing. Haha. Hope you all enjoy watching a slice of Kirk’s sweet life he’s lived here in Australia.

How fun! Great job you two! Loved it!
Cool “pink board” Kirk!!
Love it.!
Thank you Lauren and Kirk! Nolan and Sean LOVED watching the video (over and over again)
Each time Nolan watched it he came up with more questions and comments. I will list a few of them for you.
1. His most important question, “Who sings that song? I really like it!”
2. “Are there tornadoes in Australia?”
3. “I think I would really like to live there.”
4.”I bet Kirk would be a great surfing teacher.”
5. This is my favorite question
“Is he a dad?” “I bet he would be a great dad.”
6. “How long has he been surfing?”
7. “Does he have to rub stuff on his surf board?”
Thanks so much for keeping such a great blog with BEAUTIFUL pictures. We check it almost every night. We are all really enjoying it.

Hi Nolan, Sean & Nikki!
I’m glad you liked the video! I’m going to answer all your questions in order.
1. The song is by The Beautiful Girls, an Australian band, we actually saw them live at Bondi Beach! They are excellent!
2. I’m not actually sure if there are tornadoes in Australia. But there are definitely hurricanes.
3. I think I would really like to live in Australia too! We might come back and stay again for awhile.
4. I was a pretty good wakeboarding teacher, but surfing is quite a bit harder. Surfing is a lot about learning the ocean, and learning about waves. I tried to teach Lauren, here is what she has to say “Surfing is harder than wakeboarding, and it is something you need to learn more from experience than teaching.” (I don’t think I taught her that well.)
5. I like this question too. Lauren thinks I’d be a good Dad.
6. I have been surfing for the past 3 months almost every day. Before that I had only been about 10 times.
7. I do rub stuff on my board. It’s called surf wax, its kind of like a candle wax, and it gives my feet better grip on the board in the slippery water. It smells delicious too, like coconuts & sunshine!
Kirk,
Thanks for the answers to all Nolan’s questions. He is really in love with that song. This morning he got out his guitar and “tired to play” the song. It was cute to hear him trying to sing it.
I found a place on line where I can buy their cds. What cd is that song from? I think I need to buy it for him.
Thanks so much to you and Lauren for the great pictures and blog. You guys have become “celebrities” to Sean and Nolan. They love to check in on what you guys are doing. They think you guys have the coolest life!!!
Nikki
Found it and bought it on itunes. Nolan is a very happy guy!!
